Description
The seed teas of Ayurvedic cooking — fennel, cumin, coriander (CCF tea), cardamom — all call for the same gesture: steep covered for a few minutes, then strain. This borosilicate glass teapot does both: an infuser is built into the inside, and you simply turn the teapot on its handle to separate the water from the seeds and stop the steeping, with no strainer or basket to lift out.
The clear glass shows the colour of the tea, which helps you judge the steeping time. The side handle is wood and the glass lid has a knob. According to the supplier’s diagram, the body is about 12 cm long and 7.5 cm high: a one-to-two-cup size, not a family teapot.
Honest limits: the supplier does not state the exact capacity; the teapot does not go on the stove (pour in hot water from a kettle); even heat-resistant glass dislikes sudden temperature shocks (do not pour boiling water into a teapot straight from the fridge). It is a utensil: it changes nothing about the properties of what you brew in it.

Frequently asked questions
How does the rotating infuser work?
The seeds or leaves stay in an inner compartment. With the teapot flat they sit in the water; turn it on its handle and the water moves to the other side, stopping the steeping. Then pour through the spout.
Can it go on the stove?
No: pour in hot water from a kettle. For CCF tea simmered for 5 minutes, use a saucepan, or use the covered 10-minute steeping variant described in our recipe.
