Find an Ayurvedic practitioner, an abhyanga massage or a retreat

Would you rather be guided than do it all on your own? Describe your request: with your consent, we pass it on to up to three partner professionals, who may contact you. It is free and there is no obligation.

Before you choose: what to know

  • The title is not a protected credential. In the US and the UK, an Ayurvedic practitioner is not a licensed health professional: they do not diagnose, prescribe or change a treatment. A consultation is about wellbeing and never replaces a doctor (details in is Ayurveda regulated?).
  • Ask about training. Length of the program, supervised practice, where it took place: a serious practitioner answers without taking offense.
  • Expect clear prices and be wary of large packages sold at the first appointment or of systematic sales of in-house preparations.
  • Walk away from any promise of a cure and from any advice to reduce or stop a treatment.

What a session looks like and the warning signs are covered in our guide to the Ayurvedic consultation; for a retreat, read how to choose an Ayurvedic retreat.

Questions to ask at first contact

  • What is your training, and how long have you been practicing?
  • How does the first session work, how long does it last and what does it cost?
  • For a massage: which oil do you use, and when would you advise against a massage?
  • For a retreat: what does the price include (lodging, meals, treatments, transfers), and what is the cancellation policy?

What we pass on, and what we never ask

We pass on your request (consultation, massage or retreat), your city or your choice of an online session, your timing, your contact details and your practical notes, only if you tick the consent box. We never ask about your health: please do not include any. Details in our privacy policy.
