Description
After a scalp massage (see our guide), slow combing from the forehead to the nape rounds off the routine. A wooden comb glides without snagging and does not create the static of a plastic comb, which makes it the natural tool for this moment.
This comb is cut from a single piece of a wood sold as “green sandalwood”: that is the trade name of a hard, veined wood, different from Indian white sandalwood, and its light woody scent fades over time. It measures 15 to 20 cm depending on the piece, has fine, even teeth and a rounded handle that sits well in the hand. It weighs about 55 g.
It suits straight to wavy hair; for very curly or coily hair a wide-tooth comb works better. Clean it dry with a small brush and now and then feed the wood with a drop of plant oil. Avoid leaving it to soak in water.
